SSC Typing Tests

Typing Test Rules

• Keystroke Rule: 5 Keystrokes = 1 Word
• Error Calculation: Error % = (Total Errors ÷ Given Words) × 100
• Full Mistakes (1 Error each):
  • Omission of a word, Addition of an extra word, Spelling error, Word repetition, Incomplete word
• Half Mistakes (0.5 Error each):
  • Wrong capitalization, Punctuation error, Spacing error, Word transposition
  (Two half mistakes are counted as one full mistake)
• Qualification Criteria:
  • NON-CPT Posts:
    • UR – 20%, OBC – 25%, Others – 30%
  • CPT Posts:
    • UR – 5%, Others – 7%
• Instructions:
  • Test is auto-submitted when time expires
  • Copy and paste is not allowed
  • Focus on accuracy, not only speed
  • Check capitalization and punctuation carefully
  • All words must be completed fully

Candidates are advised to practice regularly to minimize errors and improve performance.
