- 01. The UPPSC Typing Test is conducted on a computer-based platform with a split-screen interface. The source passage appears on the upper half of the screen; candidates must type in the text box on the lower half.
-
02.
Candidates must select their preferred font — Kruti Dev 010 or
Mangal (Inscript) — as per the official UPPSC Typing Test Font Notice
released before each examination. Both fonts are conducted on a standard
QWERTY keyboard.
Note: Kruti Dev 010 uses a legacy phonetic/typewriter mapping for Hindi characters. Mangal (Inscript) uses the standard Unicode Inscript layout. Candidates must practice on their chosen font consistently before the exam. - 03. Backspace Key functionality is limited in the UPPSC typing interface — typically permitted only for the current word or the immediately preceding word, simulating real-time typing pressure. Candidates should not rely on frequent corrections and must aim for first-attempt accuracy.
- 04. Some versions of the UPPSC typing test include word-by-word highlighting of the source passage as the candidate types. The current word to be typed is highlighted; once confirmed with Space, the highlight advances to the next word automatically.
- 05. The UPPSC Typing Test is purely qualifying in nature. Marks scored in the typing test are not added to the final merit list. Final selection for UPPSC ARO and Computer Assistant posts is based solely on written examination merit, provided the candidate has cleared the typing stage.
- 06. The UPPSC Computer Assistant Typing Test (Advt. A-4/E-1/2025) has a Typing Test Notice 2026 released on the official UPPSC website. 169 candidates were shortlisted for the Hindi typing test stage following the written examination (as of March 2026). The typing test date is announced on uppsc.up.nic.in after the written exam results are declared.
- 07. Candidates are advised to refer only to the official UPPSC website (uppsc.up.nic.in) for all updates on the UPPSC Typing Test schedule, admit card, font notice, and result. Do not rely on unofficial or aggregator sources, which frequently confuse UPPSC with UPSSSC.
