UPSSSC Typing Test Rules

• ⏱ Duration: 5 minutes (Hindi & English)
• ⌨ Font Types: Mangal (Inscript) or Krutidev 010 (Remington) for Hindi
• 📊 Evaluation: Word-wise comparison between Original Passage and Typed Text
• ⌫ Backspace Rule: Candidate may use Backspace Key to correct the current word and one previous word only (maximum 2 words can be edited).
• 🧮 Error Relaxation Rule:
  • First 5 mistakes are ignored while calculating typing speed.
  • If total mistakes ≤ 5 → Speed calculated on total typed words.
  • If mistakes exceed 5 → After first 5 free mistakes, 5 correct words deducted per extra mistake as penalty.
  • Typing speed is calculated based on remaining correct words.
• 1 Mark Full Mistakes
  • Omission (missing word)
  • Addition / Extra word
  • Substitution (wrong word)
  • Spelling error or incomplete word
• 0.5 Mark Half Mistakes
  • Transposition (two words swapped)
  • Wrong capitalization (English only)
  • Punctuation mistake only
  • Extra spacing (multiple spaces)
  Two half mistakes = one full mistake
• ✔ Qualification: Candidate must meet required speed after applying error rules.
